I did it. I wore a floral crown to the ARIA Awards and it was fucking excellent. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm I make children’s music albums and produce children’s events for the ABC. It’s a pretty sweet gig. Kids are fun and making fun things for them is fun. Fun. I digress. The ARIAs are the Australian Music industry’s night of nights (the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards to be exact). And this year, I rocked a flower crown and it was glorious. Peonies, billy buttons, wax flowers and some green foliage I foraged from the park next to my house.
As the ARIAs are such a high profile event, I couldn’t dare turn up with a slapped together floral crown on my head, so I had a practice run a few weeks prior. The occasion? My little brother’s house warming. There were several floral crowns floating around the party that day. And my dear brother donned his crown for the whole party. What a bloody champ.
